ÖzModern Felsefe terimi genelanlamda 15.yüzyıldan başlayıp 20. yüzyılakadar devam eden felsefi anlayışı ifadeetmek için kullanılır. Modern çağa geçişibelirleyen en önemli unsurlardan birimodern bilimde gerçekleşen bilimseldevrimdir. Bilim bu dönemden itibarenhâkim entelektüel otorite haline gelipkültürel dünya tasavvurunun tanımlayıcısı,yargılayıcısı ve hamisi olarak dinin yerinialınca, felsefe de kendisini ve alt alanlarınıbilimden hareketle tanımlama durumunagelir. Modern felsefe, kozmosunparçalanmasının yarattığı sonuçların etkisialtında gelişir. Kozmosun parçalanması,elbette her şeyden önce İlkçağ ile Ortaçağfelsefesine damgasını vuran klasik dünyagörüşünün ya da teleolojik evrenanlayışının yıkılmasını ifade eder. Yeni doğabiliminin düşünce ve görüşlerini çok iyi birşekilde kavrayan ve en açık şekliyle ifadeeden ilk filozoflar Francis Bacon ve RenéDescartes olmuştur. Her iki filozofundadoğru bilgiye ulaşabilmek için mutlakadoğru bir yönteme sahip olmak gerektiğidüşüncesi modern felsefe açısındanoldukça önemlidir.Anahtar Sözcükler: Bilim, Modern Felsefe, Bilgi, Tümevarım, Sezgi, Cogito.AbstractThe term modern philosophy isgenerally used to express the philosophicalunderstanding that started in the 15th centuryand continued to the 20th century. One of themost important elements identifying transitionto the modern age is the scientific revolutiontaking place in modern science. As the scienceturned out to be the dominant intellectualauthority and took the place of religion as anillustrator, judge and protector of culturalimagination of the world from this period, thephilosophy started to define itself and itssubfields with reference to the science.Modern philosophy has developed under theeffects of the results of the disintegration ofcosmos. Disintegration of the cosmos, ofcourse, above all, means collapsing the classicalworldview marked in ancient and medievalphilosophy or theological understanding of theuniverse. Francis Bacon and Descartes werethe first philosophers that understood thethoughts and views of new natural sciencethoroughly and expressed them clearly. Bothphilosophers’ idea that having a right methodabsolutely required to obtain trueinformation is very important in modernphilosophy.Key words: Science, Modern Philosophy, Information, Reasoning, Intuition, Cogito.
