Eko-Kentlerin Sürdürülebilirlik Çerçevesinde İncelenmesi

Özet
Önceden önemsiz olarak görülen veya göz ardı edilen çevre sorunları, kent olarak tabir edilen yerleşim yerlerinden başlayarak ortaya çıkardığı zararlar bakımından küresel boyutlara ulaşmaktadır. Dünyadaki kirliliği azaltmak, canlıları korumak, doğal kaynaklara veya tarihi mekânlara zarar verilmesini önlemek adına birçok uluslararası anlaşma yapılmakta ve bu sorun alanlarının azaltılması adına birçok düşünce ve kent modeli ortaya atılmaktadır. Temiz, sağlıklı, sürdürülebilir, sıfır atıklı yaşam alanlarının oluşturulması çevresel sürdürülebilirlik açısından global bir görüş haline gelmiştir. Kendi kendine yetebilen bir anlamda tükettiği enerji miktarını kendi içinde üretebilen odak noktasında ekoloji olan kentler inşa etmek ve kentlerin sürdürülebilirliğini sağlayarak gelecek kuşaklara daha az zarar görmüş bir çevre bırakmak adına ortaya atılan modellerden bir tanesi de “eko-kent” modelidir. Bu model kent ve çevreyi ayrılmaz bir bütün olarak kabul ettiği için yenilenebilir enerji, atık yönetimi, enerji verimi sağlayan binalar gibi birçok özelliği içinde barındırır. Eko-kent modeli, çevresine değer veren çevre ile ekonomi arasında dengeli ilişki kurabilen sürdürülebilir kent çerçevesinde oldukça önemli bir modeldir. Makalenin temel amacı, artık hemen hemen her alanda kullandığımız sürdürülebilirlik kavramının içeriğini ortaya koymak, kentlerde bu kavramın etkinliğini sağlayabilmek amacıyla gerekli ve temel olan çevre bilinci ve çevre eğitimi kavramlarını açıklamak ve bu bilgiler ışığında eko-kentlerin temel mantığını oluşturan sürdürülebilirlik bağlamında eko-kentleri ele almaktır.
Abstract
Environmental problems previously considered to be insignificant or neglected, starting from the settlements, which are called as the city, reaches global dimensions in terms of the damages it causes. To reduce pollution in the world, protect living things, many international agreements are made to prevent damage to natural resources or historical sites, and many ideas and urban models are proposed to reduce these problem areas. Creating clean, healthy, sustainable, zero-waste living spaces has become a global view in terms of environmental sustainability. To build cities with ecology in the focus, which can produce the amount of energy consumed in a self-sufficient sense and one of the models put forward in order to ensure the sustainability of the cities and leave a less damaged environment to the next generations is the “eco-city” model. Since this model accepts the city and the environment as an integral whole, it includes many features such as renewable energy, waste management, and energy-efficient buildings. The eco-city model is a very important model within the framework of a sustainable city, as it values the environment and establishes a balanced relationship between the environment and the economy. The main purpose of the article, to explain the content of the concept of sustainability that we use in almost every field, to explain the concepts of environmental awareness and environmental education which are necessary and essential in order to ensure the effectiveness of this concept in cities and in the light of this information, it is to handle eco-cities in the context of sustainability, which constitutes the basic logic of eco-cities.
