Abstract
This research is a continuation of a previously published research entitled "How does the writer benefit from the tributaries of human literature? An applied study on international and Arab literature". Which discusses the personal experience, historical experience, and myth as sources of human literature. This paper discusses three other sources of literature: social reality, imagination, and the subconscious. When the writer writes his novel or poetry or otherwise, he resorts to several tributaries to take from them what he or she needs to formulate his literature. Social reality reflects the spirit of society and real-life between people and the relationships among different classes of society. The fiction is resorted to by the writer when s/he is unable to access social reality; the writer wanders in the realm of fiction to make up for the lack of reality. On the other hand, The subconscious mind resorted to bu the writers in the twentieth century after the establishment of the psychological school by the psychologist Sigmund Freud, who believes that the internal motives of man are more influential than external factors, and therefore the writers resorted to the subconscious mind to try to explain human motives. In this research, we will examine these three tributaries identified by the researchers in detail and apply them to Arab and international literature to see to what extent the Arab writers took from those tributaries mentioned by critics, and which tributaries had the most luck in feeding Arabic literature, and which are neglected by Arab writers.
