Özet
Döviz kurlarının ihracat üzerindeki etkisi her zaman tartışılagelmektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı, Uşak ilinde deri sektörünün ihracat performansı üzerinde döviz kurlarının etkisini belirlemektir. Çalışmada 2017-1 ile 2021-9 döneminde aylık sepet kuru ve deri sektörü ihracat verileri kullanılmıştır. Verilerin analizinde ADF ve PP Birim Kök Testleri ve Toda-Yamamoto Nedensellik Testi kullanılmıştır. Analiz sonuçlarına göre; deri ihracatı ile döviz kuru arasında herhangi bir nedensellik ilişkisi bulunamamıştır. Buna göre Uşaktaki deri sektörünün ihracat performansı döviz kuru dışındaki faktörlerin etkisi altındadır. Çalışma bulguları kurların ihracat üzerindeki etkisinin sektörlere göre değişebileceğini göstermektedir. Sonuçlar deri sektörü ile ilgilenen tüm kesimler için politika üretmede kullanılabilecek veriler sunmaktadır.
Abstract
The impact of exchange rates on exports has always been discussed. The aim of this study is to determine the effect of exchange rates on the export performance of the leather sector in Uşak province. The monthly exchange rates and leather sector export data for the period 2017-1 and 2021-9 were used. In the study, to analyse the data, ADF and PP Unit Root Tests and Toda-Yamamoto Causality Test were used. According to the results of the analysis; no causal relationship found between leather exports and the exchange rate. So, it can be said, the export performance of the leather sector in Uşak is influenced by factors other than the exchange rate. The study findings show that the impact of exchange rates on exports may vary depending on the sectors. The results provide data that can be used to create policies for all sectors interested in the leather sector.
