RUNIC INSCRIPTION ON THE COASTAL ROCK OF LENA RIVER AT DAVYDOVO'S VILLAGE

Abstract

The article represents interpretation of a short runic inscription on the coastal rock of Lena River. The inscription represents Lena’s version of the Orkhon-Yenisei’s runic letter. The classical transcription of an inscription has an appearance: K|kRÜs +broken arrow. The inscription says: “Siu Aar – Кachakh + okhotohuna” - the Army is mighty – fortress is prostrate / defenders of fortress fell.
