Abstract
Together with the coming of printing press to our country, especially our book arts that meet with technology were left to their fate in a sense and deprived from interest and love. In this process, the Turkish calligraphy art, which is perhaps the most exceptional one of our traditional arts and which was left to its fate, has exhibited examples that are excellent from each other in a periodic whole coming until today by taking the latest and perfect shape in the hands of Turkish artists. Eastern arts, especially Islamic art, entered a different dimension in periods in which the Western art produced works in different dimensions and techniques. The Islamic art attached importance to the mark in the meaning of shapes created with lines and pushed the description of emotions into the background. Turks added a different style in their art repertoire by meeting with Islam left other Islamic countries behind by including the Islamic Calligraphy in their national structure. Especially they were memorialized and identified with this art by giving the last and final form to the types of script that is especially called as Aklam-I sitte. In addition to all these, it reaches a pictorial dimension by a surrealist interpretation in different styles and shapes by interpreting broad tolerance, humour and culture of the Turk in the hands of two important religious sect competent (Mevleviyeh and Bektashism) in the Turkization of Anatolia. Today, our art that is the honour guest of collections in the arts galleries of the world museums has places as a calligraphic component for the works of modern wester artists such as Picasso, Paul Klee, Joan Miro, Hans Hartung.
