Abstract

The aim of this study is to reveal the relationship between teachers’ levels of action identification and burnout level. For this purpose, correlational research model was used in the study. Within the scope of the study, the data was collected from 127 teachers working in the province of Elazig by using the method of disproportionate stratified sampling. The Action Identification Form developed by the researchers and the Maslach Burnout Inventory were used to collect the data. The 11-item Action Identification Identification Form was prepared using a two-choice item approach. For the analysis of the data, frequency and percentage levels of each action were calculated and correlation analysis and t-test were performed. According to research findings, it was found that teachers identify their tasks at a high level. It was observed that the teachers mostly identify the item "to use the tools in the classroom and laboratory during the lessons" at the highest level and identify the item "tasks given in social activities" at the lowest level. According to the findings, it was found that there is negative, "medium" level and significant correlation between levels of teachers' action identification and their burnout level. When the items were evaluated one by one, seven items of the 11-item of Action Identification Identification Form had a significant and negative relationship with the burnout levels of the teachers. Thus, as teachers' actions tend to have higher levels of identification, the level of burnout decreases. Considering this finding, suggestions have been developed for policy makers and practitioners in education.
