Özet
Bu çalışmada evrensel çocuk edebiyatı yazarlarından Susanna Tamaro’nun “Kitaplardan Korkan Çocuk” adlı çeviri çocuk kitabı incelenmiştir. Kitaptaki aile ve çocuk arasındaki ilişkiden yola çıkılarak ailenin çocuk eğitimindeki etkisinin sosyal öğrenme kuramı ışığında ortaya çıkarılması amaçlanmıştır. Davranışçı kuramların deneysel metotlarına tepki olarak ortaya çıkan sosyal öğrenme kuramına göre öğrenmenin gerçekleşmesi bireyin içinde bulunduğu çevreyle ilişkilidir. Bu kuramın savunucuları öğrenen kişinin çevresindekileri izleyerek onların davranışlarından olumlu ya da olumsuz sonuçlar çıkardığını ve çıkarılan bu sonuçlara göre öğrenmenin gerçekleştiğini öne sürmektedirler. Çalışma kapsamında Susanna Tamarro’nun “Kitaplardan Korkan Çocuk” adlı kitabı çocuk eğitiminde sosyal öğrenme kuramı bağlamında incelenmiştir. Çalışmada nitel araştırma yöntemlerinden doküman analizi metodu kullanılmıştır. Kitaptaki veri taramaları sonucunda rol modeller iki farklı yaklaşımla ele alınmıştır. Buna göre olumlu rol model olması beklenen anne-baba olumsuz rol model olurken başkahraman Leopoldo’nun parkta tanıştığı yaşlı ve kör adam ise olumlu rol model olarak sunulmuştur. S. Tamarro ebeveynlerin olumsuz tutumlarını ve doğru bildikleri yanlışları eleştirmek için bu tezatlıktan faydalanmıştır. Sosyal öğrenme kuramının çocuk eğitimine etkisini inceleyen bu çalışmada Susanna Tamaro’nun eserinden hareketle ailenin çocuk eğitimindeki etkisi incelenmiştir. Sonuç olarak araştırmaya konu olan roman üzerinden ailelerin çocuk eğitiminde yaptıkları yanlışlıklar sosyal öğrenme kuramının rol-model anlayışı ışığında olumlu ve olumsuz rol model örnekleriyle açıklanmıştır.
Abstract
In this study, the translated children’s book which is titled “Kitaplardan Korkan Çocuk” by Susanna Tamaro, the author of Universal children’s literature, has been examined. It is aimed to reveal the effect of the family on child education in terms of social learning theory by analyzing the relationship between the family and the child in the book. According to the social learning theory which emerged as a reaction to the experimental methods of behavioral theories, the realization of learning is related to the environment in which the individual lives. Advocates of this theory argue that by following the people around, the learners obtain positive or negative results from their behaviours, and learning takes place according to these results.In the scope of study, Susanna Tamaro's book that is titled "Kitaplardan Korkan Çocuk" has been examined in the context of social learning theory in child education. In the study, document analysis method has been used as a qualitative research method. As a result of the data rewiev in the book, role models have been examined in two different approaches. According to this, while parents who are expected to be positive role model are negative role model, the old and blind man whom Leopoldo, the protagonist, met in the park has been presented as a positive role model. S. Tamaro has benefited from this contradiction in order to criticize parents' negative attitudes and their mistakes which they know as true. In this study which examines the effects of social learning theory on child education, the effect of the family on child education has been examined in the light of Susanna Tamaro's book. In conclusion, through the book which is the subject of that study, the mistakes that parents make on child education has been explained with the examples of positive and negative role-models in the light of the role-model understanding of social learning theory.
