BİR SANAT ARAŞTIRMASININ DOĞASINA BAKIŞ

Özet

Sanat hakkında yazmak, onun kaydını tutmak yalnızca tarihçilerini değil, eleştirmen, sanatçı, sanat öğrencileri, sanat meraklıları, düşünürleri ve tabii ki sanat eğitimcilerini de ilgilendirmelidir. Özellikle şimdi/şuanın kaydını tutmak alandaki tarih konularıyla içli dışlı olan sanatçılara ve sanat eğitimcilerine bir tarihçi kadar sorumluluk yükler. Bu sorumluluk onlara disiplinlerin kesiştiği noktada bilginin üretilme yollarını ve farklı bakış açıları ile bağlamları gösterir. Bu durumda sanatçı ya da sanat eğitimcilerine tarih araştırmasının koşulları ve doğasına ilişkin farklı bakış açılarıyla sunmak önem kazanır aynı zamanda bu tartışmalar sanat araştırmasının doğasına ilişkin fikir verici olabilir. Bu nedenle herhangi bir araştırmacı hangi amaçla olursa olsun bir olay, olguya yaklaşırken en azından bir disiplinin bakış açısı, doğası, nitelik/özellikleri ile yöntemlerinden haberdar olması gerekir. Hamblen’ın da değindiği gibi, sanatsal bir olay ister sanatçı, isterse sanat eğitimcinin perspektifinde gerçekleşsin sanat araştırmaları probleminin dokusuna uygun yöntem seçimiyle işlerlik kazanır (s.115). Bununla birlikte her ne kadar iyi niyetli yapılırsa yapılsın bazen bir sanat araştırması bir disiplinin bakış açısında kalabilir. Bu durumda araştırma ona ilişkin yöntemin seçiminden bulguların yorumlarına kadar genişleyerek gerçeğin (olay/olgunun) kendisinden farklı anlam kazanabilir. Özellikle sanat alanının temel dayanağını oluşturan tarih araştırmalarında bu duruma benzer bazı problemler görülebilir. Son yıllarda sanat temelli araştırmalar içinde benzer tartışmaların yer alması problemin önemi açısından dikkat çekicidir. Bu nokta bu tür problemlerin sanat temelli araştırmalarda görülmesinin sanat araştırmalarının doğasıyla ilgili olup olmadığını tartışmak kaçınılmazdır. Araştırma amacı, sanat araştırmasının veri toplama kaynaklarına inerek sanat araştırmalarının temel veri kaynağını teşkil eden, sanat tarihi örneğinde veri türleri, veri toplanması, yöntemin seçimi ve yorum sürecinde araştırmayı etkileyebilecek etmenleri saptamaktır. Böylece sanat araştırmalarının doğası tartışmaya açılmaktadır. Araştırma verileri literatür tarama ve içerik analizlerinden elde edilmiştir. Ayrıca araştırmada seçilen örneklere ulaşılan gerçeklerin yanında olayların yeniden çeşitli şekillerde anlamlandırılıp bilinçsizce yapılan yorumların katılıp katılmadığı, olduğundan farklı biçimde şekillenip şekillenmediği kısaca sürece araştırmacının kişisel düşüncelerin katılıp katılmadığı, bu yorumlarda gerçekte varlığı tartışılabilecek işaretlerin bulunup bulunmadığına ilişkin sorulara yanıt aranarak bazı tespitler yapılmaya çalışılmıştır.

Abstract

Writing about art and keeping a record of it should concern not only its historians, but also critics, artists, art students, art enthusiasts, thinkers and of course art educators. In particular, now / now keep a record of responsibility as a historian to artists and art educators who are familiar with history topics in the field. This responsibility shows the ways in which knowledge is produced at the intersection of disciplines and contexts with different perspectives. In this case, it is important to present artists or art educators with different perspectives on the conditions and nature of historical research, but these debates can be informative about the nature of art research. For this reason, any researcher should be aware of the perspective, nature, quality / characteristics and methods of at least one discipline when approaching the case, no matter what the purpose is. As Hamblen points out, an artistic event takes place in the choice of a method appropriate to the texture of the art research problem, whether it is in the perspective of an artist or an art educator (p.115). Nevertheless, sometimes an art research can remain in the perspective of a discipline, no matter how well it is done. In this case, research can expand from the choice of the method to its interpretation to the interpretation of the findings, and may have a different meaning than the fact (the event / phenomenon) itself. Especially in the history research which constitutes the basis of art field, some problems similar to this situation can be seen. In recent years, similar discussions have taken place in art-based research. It is inevitable to discuss whether such problems are related to the nature of art research in art-based research. The aim of the research is to determine the data types which are the main data source of the art researches, the data collection methods, the selection of the method and the factors that may affect the research in the interpretation process. Thus, the nature of the art research is opened to debate. Research data were obtained from literature review and content analysis. In addition to the facts that were selected in the research, it was tried to make some determinations by looking for answers to questions about whether the researchers participated in the interpretations in different ways and whether the comments were made unconsciously, whether the researcher had participated in the personal thoughts briefly and whether there were signs to discuss the existence of these comments.
