14. Yüzyıl başlarında tarih sahnesine çıkan Osmanlı Devleti, Batı’ya doğru sınırlarınıgenişletti ve Rumeli’ye yerleşerek o bölgeyi ülkenin önemli bir parçası haline getirdi.17. Yüzyıl ortalarında ise çeşitli nedenlerden dolayı bir durgunluk içine giren OsmanlıDevleti, önce yavaş yavaş sonra hızla bir gerileme ve çöküş sürecine girdi.Osmanlı Devleti’nin çöküşünün en önemli nedenlerinden biri Fransız İhtilali’nin Dünya’yayaydığı “milliyetçilik” siyasetidir. Milliyetçilik siyaseti etkisiyle ayaklanan Balkanlı milletleriAvrupalı emperyalist ülkeler de desteklemiş ve başlattıkları isyanların başarıya ulaşmasınısağlamışlardır.Bu incelemede, Osmanlı Devleti’nin dağılma – çöküş sürecini başlatan ve hızlandıran“Milliyetçilik Akımının Balkanlardaki Gayrimüslim Unsurlar Üzerindeki Etkisi (1789 –1875)” tarih metodolojisinin ilke ve esaslarına uygun bir biçimde ele alınmış veyorumlanmıştır.
Abstract
The Ottoman Empire, which was on the stage of history at the beginning of the 14th century,expanded its borders to the West and settled in Rumelia and made it an important part of thecountry.In the middle of the 17th century, the Ottoman Empire, which entered into a recession forvarious reasons, entered into a process of decline and collapse.One of the most important reasons of the collapse of the Ottoman Empire is the nationalism’politics that the French Revolution has spread to the world. The European imperialistcountries have supported the Balkan nations, which were revolted by the influence ofnationalism, and ensured the success of the revolts they initiated.In this study, “The Effects of Nationalism on the Non-Muslim Factors in the Balkans (1789 -1875)” on which initiated and accelerated the disintegration and collapse of the OttomanEmpire was dealt with and interpreted in accordance with the principles of historymethodology.
