Özet
Bu makale çağdaş Endonezyalı bir müfessir olan M. Quraish Shihab, hayatı, eserleri ve en anıtsal eseri olan Tafsir Al-Mishbāh hakkında tartışmaktadır. Tafsir Al-Mishbāh, 15 ciltlik Kuran'ın 30 cüzünü mushaf sırasına göre açıklayan Endonezyaca bir tefsir eseridir. Bu tefsir aynı zamanda Endonezya'daki en popüler tefsir eserlerinden biri olup, çeşitli üniversitelerde araştırma ve çalışma materyali olarak yaygın bir şekilde kullanılmaktadır. Tafsir Al-Mishbāh, Kuran'ın vahyedilişinin temel amacı insanlığa bir rehber olması gibi, Kuran'ın toplum içinde yaşayabilmesi için anlaşılması kolay bir dille Kuran'ı açıklamaya çalışır. Bu tefsir çalışması ile tefsir alanındaki diğer eserlerle M. Quraish Shihab, Kuran'ı modern toplumun gerçekleri ve ihtiyaçları doğrultusunda açıklayan çağdaş Güneydoğu Asya tefsirinin öncüsü olarak anılmaktadır. Bu makaledeki tartışma, M. Quraish Shihab'ın hayatı, Tafsir Al-Mishbāh'ın yazımının arka planı, tefsirin özellikleri, kaynakları ve tefsirin metodu gibi çeşitli noktalara odaklanmıştır. Bu makalenin amacı, Tafsir Al-Mishbāh'ı tanıtmak ve Güneydoğu Asya'da, özellikle Endonezya'da çağdaş tefsir eserlerinin gelişimini ve karakterini bulmaktır.
Abstract
This article discusses M. Quraish Shihab, a contemporary Indonesian commentator, about his life, writings, and greatest work, Tafsir Al-Mishbāh. Tafsir Al-Mishbāh is an Indonesian Quranic commentary that covers the entire 30 chapter of the Qur’an in 15 volumes in the order of the muṣḥaf. This commentary is also one of the most popular works of interpretation in Indonesia which is widely used as research material and study at various universities. Tafsir Al-Mishbāh tries to explain the Qur’an in easy-to-understand language so that the Qur’an can live in the midst of society as the main purpose of the revelation of the Qur’an, namely as a guide for mankind. With this and numerous other works in the field of commentary, M. Quraish Shihab has been named the pioneer of modern Southeast Asian commentary, which interprets the Qur’an in light of contemporary realities and needs. This article explores numerous aspects, including M. Quraish Shihab's biography, the background of writing Tafsir Al-Mishbāh, the characteristics of the commentary, its sources of reference, and the methods used to interpret it. This article aims to acquaint readers with the background of writing Tafsir Al-Mishbāh and to inform them about the development and character of modern commentary works in Southeast Asia, particularly in Indonesia.
