Hemşirelik Öğrencilerinde Merhamet Düzeyi

Özet

Amaç: Araştırmanın amacı, hemşireliköğrencilerinin merhamet düzeylerini belirlemektir.Gereç ve Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı nitelikteki buçalışma, Türkiye’nin batısında yer alan iki devletüniversitenin hemşirelik bölümünde öğrenim görenöğrencilerde Mayıs -Aralık 2017 tarihleri arasındagerçekleştirilmiştir. Çalışmanın örneklemini 518öğrenci oluşturmuştur. Araştırmanın verileri,"Öğrenci Tanıtım Formu" ve "Merhamet Ölçeği"kullanılarak toplanmıştır. Veriler, SPSS 21.00paket programı aracılığı ile analiz edilmiştir veMann-Whitney U testi, Kruskall-Wallis H testikullanılmıştır.Bulgular: Çalışma bulgularına göre öğrencilerin%84.9’un kadın, %53.3’ünün 20 yaş ve altındaolduğu belirlenmiştir. Hemşirelik öğrencilerinin%33.3’ünün merhamet kavramını empati yapabilme, %25’inin vicdan, %18.1’ inin isebireye saygı duyma olarak ifade ettikleribelirlenmiştir. Öğrencilerin %52’si merhameteilişkin en temel davranışın yardım etme olduğunubelirlemiştir. Öğrencilerin merhamet ölçeğindenaldıkları puan incelendiğinde, ölçek toplam puanortalaması 98.64±10.8 olarak bulunmuştur.Sonuç: Araştırmamız sonuçları hemşireliköğrencilerinin merhamet düzeylerinin yüksekolduğunu, merhamet düzeylerinin cinsiyettenetkilendiğini, öğrenim görülen sınıfa göre dedeğişkenlik gösterdiğini ortaya koymuştur.Algılanması, anlatılması ve de içselleştirilmesi zorolan merhamet kavramının bireydeki düzeyi aslındabireyin değerler dizgesinde nasıl yer buluşu iledoğrudan ilişkilidir. Bu bağlamda bireylerinyaşamlarının anlamını oluşturan değerlerinöğretiminin nasıl gerçekleştirildiği oldukçaönemlidir

Abstract

Aim:The aim of the study was to determine thelevel of compassion of nursing students.Materials and Methods:This descriptive studywas carried out between May-December 2017 atstudents studying from departments of nursing intwo state university west of Turkey. The sample ofthe study was 518 students. The data were collectedby using "Student Presentation Form" and"Compassion Scale". The data were analyzed bySPSS 21.00 package program and Mann-WhitneyU test, Kruskall-Wallis H test was used.Results:According to the study findings, 84.9% ofthe students were female and 53.3% were under 20years of age. It was determined that 33.3% ofnursing students expressed the concept ofcompassion as empathy, 25% conscience, 18.1%respecting the individual.52% of the studentsdetermined that the most basic behavior ofcompassion was helping.When the points takenfrom the students' compassion scale wereexamined, the mean total score of the scale was98.64±10.8.Conclusion:The results of our study showed thatthe levels of compassion of the nursing studentswere high, the levels of compassion were affectedby gender, and they showed variability according tothe class they studied.The individual's level ofcompassion, which is difficult to internalize, to betold and to be internalized, is in fact directly relatedto the invention of the individual in the string ofvalues.In this context, it is very important how theteaching of the values that make up the meaning ofthe lives of individuals is realized.
