Elde edilen veriler GraphPad Prism version 6.05 (GraphPad Software, Inc., CA, USA) programı kullanılarak analiz edildi. Değişkenler arasındaki ilişkilerin incelenmesi için Pearson‟s korelasyon analizleri yapıldı. P 0.05)).
Abstract
AIM Obesity is shown to be responsible for cardiovascular disease risk and related mortality. The aim of the present study is to investigate the relationship between obesity and cardiac markers. MATERIALS AND METHOD The study has formed two groups as obese and controls. The obesity group consisted of individuals who applied to the obesity school. Non-obese and healthy individuals are included to the control group. Mean age values were considered in formation of groups. After Body Mass Index (BMI) measurements, blood samples of the participants were taken for biochemical analyzes. The obtained data were analyzed using GraphPad Prism version 6.05 (GraphPad Software, Inc., CA, USA). Pearson's correlation analyzes were performed to examine the relationships between the variables. A p 0.05). Total cholesterol, triglyceride, LDL-cholesterol, CK-MB and cardiac troponin I (cTnI) levels were found significantly different among the groups (p 0.05). CONCLUSION Obesity has a significant elevating effect on cardiac markers. It is thought that further studies including physical activity will be more enlightening investigation of these effects.
