Özet

Çocuk istismarı, çocukların sağlığını ve gelişimini tehlikeye sokmaktadır. İstismar sonucu çocuklar çeşitli derecelerde psikolojik ve sosyal sorunlar yaşamakta ve bu sorunların sonucunda madde kullanmaya yönelebilmektedir. Bu çalışma ile istismara maruz kalan çocukların yaşadığı psikolojik, sosyal sorunlar ele alınmış ve istismar ile madde kullanımı ilişkisi incelenmiştir. Çalışmanın amacı istismarın çocuk üzerindeki etkileri olan psikolojik ve sosyal etkilerin incelenmesi ve istismar ile madde kullanımı arasındaki ilişkinin ortaya çıkarılmasıdır. Bu çalışmanın yöntemi, istismara maruz kalan çocukların yaşadığı sorunlar ve bu sorunlar ile madde kullanımı arasındaki ilişkiyi ele alan çalışmaları kapsayan literatür taramasıdır. Sonuç olarak, yapılan çalışmalar incelendiğinde istismara maruz kalan çocukların ailevi sorunlar yaşama, depresyon, kendine zarar verme, suça sürüklenme, suça maruz kalma, uyku problemleri, bilişsel gerileme, motor becerilerinde gerileme, akademik başarısızlık, travma sonrası stres bozukluğu belirtileri gibi çeşitli psikolojik ve sosyal sorunlar yaşadığı ve istismar ile madde kullanma arasında ilişkinin olduğu belirlenmiştir. Çocukların madde kullanımının nedeni genel olarak istismar sonrası ortaya çıkan psiko-sosyal sorunların etkisini yatıştırmak olarak ön plana çıkmaktadır. İstismarın çocuk üzerindeki psiko-sosyal etkileri ve madde kullanma ile ilişkisinin değerlendirilmesinin alanyazına önemli katkılar sağlayacağı düşünülmektedir.

Abstract

Child abuse jeopardizes the health and development of children. As a result of abuse, children experience various degrees of psychological and social problems, and as a result of these problems, they may turn to substance use. In this study, the psychological and social problems experienced by children exposed to abuse were discussed and the relationship between abuse and substance use was examined. The aim of the study is to examine the psychological and social effects of abuse on the child and to reveal the relationship between abuse and substance use. The method of this study is a literature review covering the problems experienced by abused children and the studies dealing with the relationship between these problems and substance use. As a result, when the studies are examined, various psychological and social problems such as experiencing familial problems, depression, self-harm, delinquency, exposure to crime, sleep problems, cognitive decline, regression in motor skills, academic failure, and post-traumatic stress disorder symptoms it has been determined that there is a relationship between abuse and substance use. The reason for children's substance use is to alleviate the effects of psycho-social problems that occur after abuse. It is thought that the psycho-social effects of abuse on children and the evaluation of its relationship with substance use will make significant contributions to the literature.
