New Methods for Monitoring of Critically III Children in the Intensive Care Unit

Özet

Yoğun bakım hastasının monitörizasyon ve takibi teknolojik gelişmelere paralel olarak hızla ve sürekli gelişmektedir. Monitörizasyon; hemşirenin bakım fonksiyonlarının yerine getirmesinde, karar verici hemşirelik rollerini uygulayabilmesinde ve bilgisini kullanmasında önemli bir sağlık teknolojisi olarak kabul edilmektedir. Bakım kalitesinin, hastaya ayrılan zamanın ve verimliliğin arttırılması; mortalite ve morbiditenin azaltılması bu teknolojilerin etkin ve etkili kullanımı ile ger- çekleşebilir. Yoğun bakım ünitelerinde yenilikleri takip eden, teknolojiyi kullanabilen, eğitimli ve deneyimli hemşirelik profesyonellerine gereksinim vardır. Bu makalede, yoğun bakım hastasının monitörizasyonunda yeniliklere değinilerek yoğun bakım hemşirelerine ışık tutulmak istenmiştir.

Abstract

Intensive care unit patient monitoring is quickly and constantly evolving in line with technological developments. Monitoring is recognized as an important healthcare technology helping the nurse in the fulfillment of nursing functions, including the decision-making process and the application of knowledge. Improvements in the quality of care, time devoted to patient care, as well as decreasing mortality and morbidity can occur with the efficient and effective use of these technologies. Intensive care units need well trained and experienced nursing professionals who follow innovations and are able to use technology. This article reviews recent innovations in intensive care monitoring technology for the benefit of intensive care unit nursing professionals.
