ÜNİVERSİTE ÖĞRENCİLERİ İÇİN ÇEVRE ETİĞİNİN GEREKLİLİĞİ: TÜRKİYE’DE KONUYLA İLGİLİ YAPILAN ÇALIŞMALARIN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

THE NECESSITY OF ENVIRONMENTAL ETHICS FOR UNIVERSITY STUDENTS: EVALUATION OF WORKS ON THE SUBJECT IN TURKEY

Özet

Çevre etiği, insanların doğaya ve çevreye karşı sorumluluğunu temsil eder. Bu sorumluluğu gelecek nesiller için üstlenme görevi ise yetişkin bireylere düşmektedir. Geleceğin eğitimli bireyleri arasında olacak ve topluma yön verecek olan yetişkin bireyler, üniversite öğrencileridir. Akademik bilgilerin artması, temel eğitim ve ortaöğretim kademelerinde çevre, doğa ve çevre eğitimi konularına daha fazla yer verilmesi, üniversitelerde önemli bilgi değişimlerinin ortaya çıkmasına bağlıdır. Üniversiteler, üniversite öğrencilerinin çevre etiği eğitimi konusunda gereksinimlerini karşılaması gerekmektedir. Günümüzde çevre ile ilgili dersler ve konular üniversitelerin belirli bölümlerinde okutulmaktadır. Üniversitelerde çevre ile ilgili derslerde ise çevre etiği konusuna değinilmemektedir. Gelinen bu noktada yürütülmekte olan eğitim programları ile çevre bilincine, çevre sorumluluğuna ve çevre etiğine sahip bireylerin yetiştirilmesi mümkün olmayabilir. Çevre etiği, içerisinde soyut kavramları barındırdığı için çevre etiği eğitimi soyut düşünme becerisine ulaşmış kişilere verilmelidir. Bu doğrultuda soyut düşünme becerisine ulaşmış olan üniversite öğrencilerine çevre etiği eğitimi verilmelidir. Bu sayede üniversite öğrencilerine çevre etiğine ilişkin bir bakış kazandırılarak, bireylerin çevresi ile bütünlüğünü ve bu bütün içerisinde konumunu kavraması sağlanabilecektir.

Abstract

Environmental ethics represents people's responsibility against the nature and the environment. It is the responsibility of adults to undertake this responsibility for future generations. Adult individuals, who will be the educated ones among this people and will guide the society, are university students. In order to increase academic knowledge and to be given place more to the topics of nature, environment and environmental ethics at the primary and secondary levels, depend on to come out considerable information changings at universities. Universities need to provide the necessities of their students about the education of environmental ethics. Today, courses and subjects related to the environment are taught in certain parts of the universities. However, environmental ethics are not mentioned in the courses related to environment at universities. At this point with current education programs, it may not be possible to educate people who have environmental awareness, responsibility and ethics. Because environmental ethics contains abstract concepts, its education should be given to those who have reached abstract thinking ability. In this direction, environmental ethics education should be given to university students who have reached abstract thinking skills. In this way, as the university students gain an attitude towards environmental ethics, it can be provided the environmental integrity of individual and to apprehend their position in this integrity.
