Abstract
Aim: This research aims to reveal the factors that affect students’ level of knowledge and behavior towards rational drug use. Methods: The sample of the study consisted of 85 students selected by simple random sampling method and the scale developed by Ercan (2018) was used as data collection tool. The data collected within the scope of the study were analyzed by SPSS 22 statistical program and used for frequency analysis and Independent sample t test and One Way Anova test. Conclusion: It was observed that 60% of the students did not use drugs without consulting the physician, and they obtained the most information about the drugs they used from the doctors and pharmacists. It was determined that 71.8% of the students determined the duration of antibiotic use according to the physician’s advice. In addition, no significant difference was found between the demographic characteristics of the students and their knowledge and behaviors towards rational drug use.
