Özet
Onkojenik human papilloma virus tipleri (HPV) servikal kanser gelişiminde kilit rol oynar.
Abstract
Oncogenic human papilloma virus types (HPV) are key role to cervical cancer development. Due to the easy intervention to the cervix with early diagnosis and treatment onset chance with cervicovaginal smear examination, prognosis of this disease has been significantly improved. Long pre-invasive period of the cervical cancers highlights the importance of the screening programs. 224 participant women admitted to Denizli Public Hospital, Turkey was included into this retrospective study. The specimens of cervical cytology collected by smear were reported according to Bethesda 2001 system. HPV samples evaluated with polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and DNA-typing. Among the HPV types obtained from patients, most common subtype was HPV 16. There are three different types of HPV vaccines at present. We believe that the vaccine will be cured in the preclusion of cervical cancer considering the sub-types covered by the vaccine. Co-test means cytological evaluation of cervical smear and concurrent HPV DNA study. It is effective in early diagnosis of HPV as well as early diagnosis.
