Özet
Bu incelemede, Elazığ ili KB’sında Yukarı Çakmak civarında yüzeyleyen ve havzada geniş yayılım gösteren Kırkgeçit Formasyonu’nun planktonik foraminifer içeriği ve ortamsal yorumu çalışılmıştır. Kırkgeçit Formasyonu’na ait toplam kalınlığı 159m olarak ölçülen kesitten, 36 tortul kayaç örneği derlenmiş ve bu örneklerden 9 planktonik foraminifer cinsi ve 26 türü tanımlanmıştır. Birimin litolojik özellikleri ile planktonik/bentik foraminifer oranı, inceleme alanındaki istifin “derin deniz-sığ deniz” ortam koşullarında çökelmiş olduğunu göstermektedir.
Abstract
In this research, the planktonic foraminifera content and environmental interpretation of the Kırkgeçit Formation, which is exposed over large area in the Yukarı Çakmak NW of Elazığ, was studied. The total thickness of 159m. from the measured sections which is representing Kırkgeçit Formation was collected 36 sedimantery samples. 9 planktonic foraminifera genera and 26 planktonic foraminifera species of 36 sedimantery samples were described. The lithological properties and planktonic/benthic foraminifera ratio all indicate that this formation was deposited under deep marine-shallow marine conditions in the study area.
