Özet
Giyim-kuşam kültürü toplumları birbirinden ayıran unsurlardan birisidir. İnsanoğlu öncelikle iklim koşullarından korunmak amacı ile örtünmeye başlamış zamanla estetik ve güzellik kavramlarıyla giyim, topluluklar içerisinde kendi kültürlerinin oluşmasına ortam hazırlamıştır. Toplumsal alanda statü sembolü, bireylerin medeni hallerinin belirteci, birçok mesleğin işareti, farklı sınıfların, makam ve rütbelerin belirleyicisi, toplumların sosyo-ekonomik ve sosyo-kültürel ayrıştırıcısı olmuştur.
Abstract
Human beings have tried to meet their vital needs since the day they existed. In order to survive, he struggled primarily for food, shelter and cover. They made productions to meet their shelter, nutrition and clothing needs with the materials found around them, and they constantly changed and developed. Dressing, which emerged to protect from adverse weather conditions in the beginning, has taken on different functions in social life over time. The concept of clothing has formed an important part of their cultural accumulation by being shaped according to gender, age, economic and social situation, environmental factors, beliefs, ethnic identity, geographical location, social status and the needs of the time lived.
