Okul Psikolojik Danışmanlarının Velilere İlişkin Algıları: Bir Metafor Çalışması

Özet

Bu çalışmada, rehber öğretmenlerin öğrenci velilerine ilişkin algılarının metafor yöntemi ile incelenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma grubu, Diyarbakır il merkezinde görev yapan 82 rehber öğretmenden oluşmaktadır. Veriler Rehber Öğretmenlerin Velilere İlişkin Algılarını İnceleme Formu ile toplanmış; içerik analizi yoluyla analiz edilmiştir. Veri analizi sonucunda, rehber öğretmenlerin velilere ilişkin algılarının olumlu ve olumsuz olmak üzere iki ana temada toplandığı belirlenmiştir. Bu durumda, olumlu ana temasının altında 60 metafor ve dört alt tema; olumsuz ana temasının altında ise 22 metafor ve iki alt tema ortaya çıkmıştır. Olumlu ana temasının altında yer alan alt temalarda, genel olarak velinin öğrenci ile olan ilişkisi vurgulanmıştır. Söz konusu temalara göre veli, öğrenciyi yansıtan, yetiştiren, yönlendiren, destekleyen ve eğitim sistemini tamamlayan bir unsur olarak algılanmaktadır. Diğer tarafta ise, olumsuz ana temasının altındaki temalarda, velinin öğretmen ile olan ilişkisi ortaya çıkmıştır. Bu temalara göre, velinin suçlayıcı ve bilinçsiz yaklaşımı rehber öğretmenler üzerinde negatif bir algı oluşturmaktadır.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the perceptions of the school counselors about parents through the metaphor method. Participants of the study were 82 school counselors who worked in city center of Diyarbakır. For data collection, the School Counselors' Perception About Parents Form was used. Content analysis was used to analysis data. At the end of the analysis, two main themes were found related to perceptions of the school counselors about the parents: positive and negative. There were 60 metaphors and four sub-themes as related to positive theme and 22 metaphors and two sub-themes under negative theme. The sub-themes under the positive theme generally emphasized the relationship between parents and the students. According to these sub-themes, parents were perceived as an important factor that reflects, raises, directs and supports students and completes the education system components. On the other hand, in the sub-themes under negative theme, the relationship of the school counselors with the parents was emphasized. According to these sub-themes, parents' unaware and blaming approach caused that school counselors developed a negative perception related to parents.
