Özet

Tarih öncesi çağlarda inançların, korkuların anlatımı olan heykel, sayısız temalarla tüm kültürlerde değişik roller üstlenmiştir. ortaçağda mimari bir yapının organik bir parçası olmuş, dinsel inançlarla ilgili gerçekleri öğretmek gibi de bir rol üstlenmiştir. Rönesans hareketiyle oluşan kent kültürü sonucu, mimari yapıdan koparak bağımsızlaşan heykel, Michelangelo’ nun Marcus Aurelius heykeliyle kentsel mekana taşınmıştır. Özellikle yirminci yüzyılın ikinci yarısından itibaren boyutların mimariye eşdeğer büyümesiyle kendi mekanını yaratarak izleyici ile yeni ilişkiler kurmuştur.

Abstract

From the very first day of human existence on earth sculpture has adopted different roles in different cultures covering numerous themes While it is a means of expressing beliefs and fears in the pre historic era in the middle ages it has become an organic part of the architectural structure fulfilling a role of teaching the realities of religious beliefs As a result of urban culture formed with the movement of Renaissance the sculpture now independent from the architecture has moved to the city together with Micheal Angelo’s Marcus Aurelious In the second half of the 20th century in particular it has created its own space establishing new relationships with the audience
