Özet
Amaç: Bu araştırma, Pamukkale Üniversitesi Hastaneleri Yenidoğan Yoğun Bakım Ünitesindeki(YYBÜ) gürültü düzeyini belirlemek, ebeveynlere ve sağlık çalışanlarına verilen gürültü kontrol eğitiminin etkinliğini değerlendirmek için ön test-son test ve yarı deneysel desen kullanılarak yapıldı. Yöntem: Çalışmanın örneklemini, Pamukkale Üniversitesi Hastaneleri sağlık çalışanları ve ebeveynler (toplam 54 çalışan ve 8 ebeveyn) oluşturmaktadır. Veriler 15 Mart - 15 Aralık 2017 tarihleri arasında sağlık çalışanı, ebeveyn ve gürültü anket formu kullanılarak toplandı. Ses ölçüm cihazı ile gürültü düzeyi ölçüldü. İnteraktif eğitim teknikleri kullanılarak sağlık çalışanları ve ebeveynlere eğitim verildi. Ebeveyn ile sağlık çalışanlarına verilen eğitim sonrası gürültü soruları tekrar soruldu ve ünite gürültü düzeyi ölçüldü. Bulgular: Araştırmaya katılan çalışanların %45,5’i hemşire ve %41,1’i 1-5 yıldır YYBÜ’nde çalıştığı belirlendi. Ayrıca çalışanların %94,5'i, ebeveynlerin % 100'ü eğitim sonrası YYBÜ gürültü düzeyinin 70 dB'in altında olması gerektiğini ifade etti. Gürültü kaynağını çalışanların %90,9 monitör alarmları, ebeveynlerin ise %62,5'i kendilerinin olduğunu belirtti.
Abstract
Objectives: This study used a pretest-posttest and quasi-experimental design and was carried out to determine the noise level in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) of Pamukkale University Hospitals and to assess the effectiveness of the noise control training given to parents and healthcare workers. Method: The sample of the study consisted of healthcare staff working in Pamukkale University Hospitals and parents (totally 54 employees and 8 parents). The study data were collected between 15 March - 15 December 2017 using healthcare worker, parent, and noise questionnaire form. The noise level was measured with a sound level meter. The healthcare workers and parents were trained using interactive training techniques. At the end of the training session, the noise-related questions were asked to the healthcare workers and the parents again and the unit noise level was measured. Results: Of the healthcare workers participating in the study, 45.5% were nurses and 41.1% were found to work in the NICU for 1-5 years. Besides, after the training, 94.5% of the healthcare workers and 100% of the parents stated that the noise level at NICU should be below 70 dB. As for the source of the noise, 90.9% of the employees reported it was the monitor alarms, while 62.5% of the parents stated that they themselves were the source of the noise. The noise level was determined to decrease after the training (p <0.01). Conclusion: The level of noise can be reduced by the continuous and regular repetition of noise measurements through the training given to healthcare workers and parents.
