Özet
İlk kentlerin kuruluşuyla ilgili birçok görüş ileri sürülmüştür. Bunlardan birisi kentlerin “Ekonomik (Pazar)” merkezli diğeri ise “Tapınak” merkezli kurulduğu tezidir. Mezopotamya’nın ilk kentlerinin oluşumları konusunda her iki görüşün doğruluğu aynı derecede önemlidir.
Abstract
A number of ideas were posed related to urban settlements. One of them holds the claim that the urban settlements rose “Economic (Market)” centered while the other argument defended the idea that the first urban settlements were “temple” centered. In fact, both these views are equally significant in terms of the establishment of the first Mesopotamian cities. Although the idea that the first urbanization movements were market centered has been accepted quite for some time, the excavations in Göbekli Tepe adduce evidences supporting the view that the city was established around the temple. Based on this, the temples were constructed first, and following the building of the temples the hunter-gatherer human groups who spent long time in the temple for the maintenance and cleaning issues had to settle down and thus they commenced the establishment of urbanization. According to our current knowledge, the temples whose first examples are seen in Mesopotamia were the cornerstones with their magnificent structures which ruled religion, politics and economy in a monopoly. These temples were so significant that they were the unique places where politics and economy were determined, educational works were arranged and observational and astronomical studies were conducted.
