Özet
Araştırmada Gaziantep Üniversitesi öğrencilerinin gelir ve giderlerini çeşitli değişkenler açısından incelemek ve üniversitenin öğrenci ve ziyaretçileri aracılığıyla şehir ekonomisine yıllık katkısını ortaya koymak amaçlanmıştır. Bu amaçla araştırma, tarama türünde betimsel modelle tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma evrenini Gaziantep Üniversitesi merkez yerleşkesinde 20 farklı birimde ön lisans ve lisans düzeyinde öğrenim gören 26109 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Evrenden örneklem belirlemede tabakalı örneklem yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini 20 farklı birimden elde edilen 1036 üniversite öğrencisi oluşturmuştur. Veriler araştırmacılar tarafından geliştirilen “Üniversite Öğrencilerinin Gelir ve Harcamaları Anketi” aracılığı ile toplanmıştır. Verilerin analizinde betimsel istatistiklerden frekans, yüzde ve aritmetik ortalamalardan, gruplar arasındaki farkın manidarlığını test etmede t testinden ve ANOVA’dan, marjinal tüketim eğilimi için basit doğrusal regresyondan yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre öğrenci harcamaları içinde en yüksek harcama kalemleri barınma ve beslenme gibi temel yaşam ihtiyaçlarından oluşmaktadır. Gaziantep Üniversitesi merkez kampüsü öğrencileri aracılığıyla şehir ekonomisine yıllık yaklaşık 423 milyonluk bir katkı sağlanmaktadır
Abstract
The objective of the research is to examine the income and expenditures of Gaziantep University students in terms of various variables and to make annual contributions to the city economy through the students and visitors of the university. The research is designed with a descriptive model. The study universe is composed of 26109 students studying at 20 undergraduate and graduate level in central settlement of Gaziantep University. Stratified sampling method was used to determine the sample. The sample of the research consisted of 1036 university students from 20 different units. The data were collected through the "Survey of Income and Expenditures of University Students" developed by the researchers. In the analysis of the data, frequency, percentage and arithmetic averages were used for descriptive statistics and t-test and ANOVA test were used for testing the significance of the difference between the groups. According to the results of the research, the highest expenditure items in student expenditures are composed of basic living needs such as accommodation and nutrition. Gaziantep University's central campus students make a contribution to the city economy of approximately 423 million annually.
