Abstract
The aim of this study was the investigation of the effects of eight-week preparatory training on some biometric and physiological properties of female soccer players.Eight-week pre-season preparatory training program was applied to female soccer players of Ilkadım Belediye Spor, which is a team in second division. Twenty female soccer players participated in the study. Before and after the training program, athletes’ age, length, weight of the body, flexibility, 30 meters, horizontal jump, vertical jump, anaerobic power, reaction time, fat percentage, leg strength, thigh circumference and calf circumference were measured. The collected data were evaluated by using SPSS 19.0. The average age of female soccer players was 19.82 years, while their average height was found as 161.48cm. The body weight, flexibility, 30 meters, horizontal jump, vertical jump, anaerobic power, reaction time, leg strength, thigh circumference and calf circumference values before and after preparatory training were found to be statistically significant (p<0.001). Significance was found between pre-test and post-test results of fat percentage (p<0.05). Eight-week preparatory training caused reduction in athletes’ weight, reaction time, 30 meter sprint and circumference measurements, decrease in the levels of fat percentage, and increase in jump values, leg strength and anaerobic power. A training program of eight-week can be suggested to female soccer players in development so that they can be adapted for a top level performance.
