Abstract
The Myriocephalon War (17 September 1176), which took place in the Bağırsak Pass lying betweenKonya-Beyşehir and ended with the victory of the Turkey Seljuq State, is considered as one of the majorturning points of the Turkish-Islamic history. Some of the medieval chronicles mentioning the warwere translated into Turkish and have provided very useful information for the Turkish researchers intheir studies related with the subject. However, there are two specific medieval chronicles which haven’tbeen yet translated into Turkish. As their discussions of the war is considerably important, the Turkishresearchers did not make a good use of them. First of these sources is the chronicle of Roger de Hovedenand includes the letter written by Manuel I Comnenos to the King of England Henry II. Plantagenet. Theother is the chronicle of Cardinal Boso which includes a long chapter on the war. Since both of the authorswere contemporaries and held high ranks in their lifetime, they have been well informed about the war. Therefore their works constitute important sources for the researches dealing with the MyriocephalonWar.
