Özet

Varlıkları anlamlandırma ve içselleştirme faaliyetinde önemli bir işlevi yerine getirdiği düşünüldüğünde, farklı din ve toplumlarda isimlerin öne çıkarılması doğaldır. Çünkü isim ile müsemmâ arasında sıkı bir ilişkinin bulunduğu bir gerçektir ve bu ilişki, zihniyet inşası ve dönüşümünde isimleri önemli bir araç kılmaktadır. İslâm dini de bu gerçeğe kayıtsız kalmamış, farklı vesilelerle isimlere vurgu yapmıştır. Nitekim Hz. Peygamber, birçok kez güzel isimlere sahip olmanın ve çocuklara güzel isim vermenin önemini vurgulamış, verdiği önemi fiilen izhar etmiş ve bu bağlamda kendine ait isimleri ifade etmekten de geri durmamıştır. Hem âyet ve hadislerde hem de tarih, siyer ve şemâil türü eserlerde Hz. Peygamber’in isimlerine dair bilgilerin yer aldığı, hatta bu konuda müstakil bir literatürün bile oluştuğu görülmektedir. Bununla beraber âyet ve hadislerde yer alan isimlerin, literatürde yer alan isimlere kıyasla oldukça sınırlı sayıda olduğu göze çarpmaktadır. Zira konuyu ele alan âlimler, Hz. Peygamber’in isimlerini olabildiğince çoğaltma eğiliminde olmuşlar ve bu isimleri tespitte özellikle âyet ve rivâyetlere dayanmak suretiyle büyük bir çaba ortaya koymuşlardır. Söz konusu çabalar da nihayetinde farklı sonuçlara ulaşılmasına zemin hazırlamıştır. Bu çalışmada, öncelikle İslâm’da ismin önemine değinilecek, âyet ve hadislerde yer alan Hz. Peygamber’e ait isimlere yer verilecektir. Ardından Hz. Peygamber’in isimleri etrafında dönen ve farklı ilmî disiplinlere taalluk eden bazı tartışmalar konu edilecektir. Son olarak gerek müstakil olarak telif edilen eserlerde gerekse tarih, siyer ve şemâil gibi müstakil bir başlık altında esmâü’n-Nebî’ye yer veren türlerde, bu isimlerin sayısına dair ortaya koyulan farklı görüşler ve bu farklılıkların arka planı incelenecektir.

Abstract

Considering that it performs an important function in the activity of making sense of and internalizing beings, it is natural to highlight names in various religions and societies. It is a fact that there is a close relationship between the name and named, and this relationship makes names an important tool in the construction and transformation of mentality. The religion of Islam does not remain indifferent to this fact and emphasizes the names on different occasions. As a matter of fact, the Prophet highlights the importance of having good and appropriate names and giving good names to children many times, he mentioned the importance he gave, he put that into the practice himself and, in this context, he did not hesitate to express his own names. It is seen that there is information about the names of the Prophet and even an independent literature has been formed on this subject. However, it is remarkable that the names in the verses and hadiths are quite limited compared to the names in the literature. Because the scholars who dealt with the subject, they tended to increase the number of the names of the Prophet as much as possible, and they spend great effort to identify these names, especially by relying on verses and narrations. These efforts eventually paved the way for different results. In this study, firstly, the importance of the name in Islam will be mentioned, and names of the Prophet will be included. Then it will be the subject of some debates revolving around the names of the Prophet and related to different scientific disciplines. Finally, the different views on the number of these names and the background of these differences will be examined, both in the works that have been written down separately and in the genres that include asmā’ al-Nabī under a separate title such as history, sirah and shamail.
