Mersin ilindeki sağlık kurumlarında çalışansağlığı ve güvenliği uygulamalarınındeğerlendirilmesi

Özet
Amaç: Bu çalışmada Mersin İlinde hizmet sunan kamu ve özel sağlık kurumlarında, çalışan sağlığı ve güvenliği uygulamalarının değerlendirilmesi amaçlandı. Yöntem: Tanımlayıcı tipteki bu çalışmanın verileri Eylül 2015 tarihinde bir anket formu aracılığıyla toplandı. Araştırmaya Mersin İl merkezi ve ilçelerinde hizmet veren ikinci ve üçüncü basamak 34 sağlık kurumu alındı.Bulgular: İşçi sağlığı ve iş güvenliği hizmetleri çalışan sayısına göre değerlendirildiğinde sağlık çalışanlarının %10.1’i yeterli süre işyeri hekimliği hizmeti ve %0.8’i yeterli süre iş sağlığı ve güvenliği uzmanı hizmeti alabiliyordu. Hem işyeri hekimi hem de iş güvenliği uzmanı birlikte değerlendirildiğinde, sağlık çalışanlarının sadece %0.8’i yeterli süre hizmet alabiliyordu. Çalışanların %52.9’unun 2014 yılı içinde periyodik muayeneleri yapılmıştı. Kurumlarının %94.1’inde risk değerlendirmesi yapılmıştı. Sonuç: Mersin İlinde sağlık çalışanlarının sadece yüzde birine işyeri hekimi ve iş güvenliği uzmanınca yeterli süre işçi sağlığı ve iş güvenliği hizmetinin sunulması büyük bir eksikliktir.
Abstract
Objective: The aim of this research was to assess employee health and safety practices, in publicand private healthcare institutions providing services in the city of Mersin. Methods: The data ofthis descriptive study was collected through questionnaires conducted in September 2015.Thirty-four healthcare institutions in total were included for this work. These institutions havebeen providing second and third tier health services for the city center, as well as thesurrounding districts of Mersin. Results: When assessed in terms of the number of employees inoccupational health and work safety services, only 10.1% of health workers were found to havesatisfactory access to occupational physicians, whereas only 0.8% received enough support fromoccupational health and safety experts. When the access to both the occupational physicians andthe occupational health and safety experts were evaluated together, only 0.8% of the healthworkers were found to be able to receive adequate contact time. In 2014, 52.9% of theemployees were examined periodically and 94.1% of the institutions had established riskassessments. Conclusion: In Mersin, only 1% of the health workers are provided withoccupational health and work safety services for a sufficient period of time by occupationalphysicians and occupational health and safety experts. This has been highlighted as a majorshortcoming.
