Özet

Amaç:Bu çalışmada Çocuk Polikliniği’ne başvuran çocuklar da enürezisle ilişkili sosyodemografik faktörlerin değerlendirilmesi amaçlandı. Gereç ve Yöntem:Enürezisli çocukların (n=131) aileleri ile yapılan görüşmelerden elde edilen veriler değerlendirildi. Olgular cinsiyet, başvuru yaşları, ailede enürezis öyküsü, eşlik eden hastalık, uyku derinliği ve tedavi yöntemi ile sosyoekonomik açıdan ailenin gelir düzeyine göre incelendi. Bulgular:Olguların 86’sı (%65.6) erkek, 45’i (%34.4) kızdı. Başvuru yaşı açısından her iki cins arasında anlamlı bir fark yoktu. Otuz dört (%35.1) olguda ikincil enürezis mevcuttu. Olguların 23’ünün (%11.3) sadece annesinde, 37’sinin(%32.2) sadece babasında, yedisinin (%3.6) her iki ebeveynde, 44’ünün (%22.8) kardeşlerinde ve 67’sinin (%34.7) diğer akrabalarında pozitif enürezis öyküsü saptandı. Başvuru ön cesi 22 olguya (%16.7) ilaçla tedavi, beş olguya (%3.8) ise su kısıtlama tedavisi uygulanmıştı. Eşlik eden hastalık açı sından değerlendirildiğinde 4 (%3.05) olguda spina bifida, 15’inde (%11.4) konstipasyon, 31’inde (%23.7) geçirilmiş idrar yolu enfeksiyonu öyküsü ve 3’ünde (%2.2) vezikoüreteralreflü saptandı. Sonuç:Enürezisli çocuklarda eşlik edebilecek organik so runlar nedeniyle her olgu sistematik biçimde değerlendiril melidir. Ailelerin enürezisin tedavi edilebilir bir hastalık ol duğu konusunda bilgilendirilmesi, tanı alan olguların uygun yöntemlerle erken dönemde tedavi edilmesi önemlidir.

Abstract

Background:We aimed to evaluate the sociodemographic factors related to enuresis among children admitted to our out patient Pediatrics clinic. Methods:The data collected from the parents of 131 enuretic children were evaluated. The patients were evaluated regard ing gender, age at admittance, family history of enuresis, ac companying illness, depth of sleep, treatment type, and the socioeconomic status of the family. Results:Eighty-six patients (65.6%) were males and 45 (34.4%) were females. We could not determine any difference between two genders regarding the age at admittance. Thirty-four cases (35.1%) were found to have secondary enuresis. Positive mater nal, paternal and parental history for enuresis was found among 23 (11.3%), 37 (32.2%) and 7 (3.6%) patients, respectively. Forty- four (22.8%) and 67 (34.7%) patients were found to have positive history for enuresis among siblings and relatives, respectively. Before admittance, 22 (16.7%) patients were found to be treated with a medication and 5 (3.8%) with water restriction. Regarding accompanying disease, 4 (3.05%) patients were found to have spina bifida, 15 (11.4%) constipation, 31 (23.7%) a history of uri nary tract infection, and 3 (2.2%) vesicoureteral reflux. Conclusion:Every child with enuresis should be systematically evaluated because of possible accompanying organic disor ders. Education of the parents regarding the curable nature of the disease and the early treatment of newly diagnosed pa tients should be encouraged.
