Bunlardan 30'u Grup I, 20'si Grup II ola¬rak ayrıldıktan sonra Grup I'deki hastalara 14 gün sü¬re ile famotidin (2x40 mg/gün), amoxicillin (4x500 mg/gün), thiamphenicol (3x500 mg/gün) peroral ola¬rak verildi. Grup ll'ye kolloidal • bizmut subsitrat (4x300 mg/gün), amoxicillin (4x500 mg/gün) metroni-dazole (2x500 mg/gün) 15 gün süreyle verildi. Hp ta¬yininde üreaz testi ve histopatolojik inceleme kullanı-lıd. Tedavi bitiminden 1 ay sonra Helicobacter pylori eradikasyonu araştırıldı. Endoskopik bulgular dikkate alınmadı. FAT tedavisi uygulanan 30 hastanın 6'sında (% 20) eradikasyon sağlanırken, üçlü tedavi uygulanan 20 hastanın 18'inde (% 90) eradikasyon sağlandı. Aradaki fark istatistiki olarak anlamlıydı (p
Abstract
It is known that eradication of Helicobacter pylori (Hp) increases the healing rate of duodenal ulcus and reduces the frequency of relapses. However, the eradication of Hp is not simple and there is no effective-mode of treatment. In the present study, we evaluated the role of combination famotidine, amoxicillin and thiamphenicol in fifty patients with gastritis and/or duodenitis plus Hp (+). Of these 30 patients were accepted as group I, and the remainder '20 patients as group II. Famotidine 80 mg/d, amoxicillin 2000 mg/d in four divided doses and thiamphenicol 1500 mg/d in three divided doses were given to group I. patients for fourteen days. In group II. patients bismuth subcitrate 1200 mg/d in four divided doses amoxicillin 2000 mg/d in four divided doses and metronidazole 500 mg twice daily were used. We used the urease test and histopathologic examination to identify Hp in patients. One month after the end of treatment all patients in thestudywererevaluated.Irrespectivelyof endoscopic findings, eradication of Hp was taken into consideration primarily. Eradication of Hp was achieved in 6 of 30 patients (20 %) given FAT therapy but in 18 of 20 (90 %) patients given triple therapy, the difference between two group was statistically significant, p
