Findings and conclutions on the socio-economic structure of the country of Haymanateyn in the mid of 19 th century

Özet

Bu makalede Ankara eyaletine bağlı Haymaneteyn kazasının 19. yüzyıl ortalarındaki sosyal ve ekonomik yapısı temettuat defterlerine dayanılarak açıklanmadır. Başbakanlık Osmanlı Arşivinde Ankara eyaleti Haymanateyn kazasına ait toplam 91 adet temettuat defteri kaydı bulunmaktadır. Bunların tamamı Haymana’ya tabi toplam kırk iki köyü muhtevidir. Bu defterlerin incelenmesi neticesinde 19.yüzyıl ortalarında Haymaneteyn kazasının nüfus istatistikleri, hane reislerinin meslekleri ve gelir türleri ile bunlardan edindikleri gelirler, her yıl ödedikleri vergi türleri ve miktarları gibi her dönemde sosyal ve ekonomik yapıyı ifade eden rakamlara ulaşmamız mümkün olmuştur. Bu veriler ışığında bölgenin sosyal ve ekonomik hayatı ortaya çıkarılmıştır.

Abstract

This article aims at presenting the social and economic structure of Haymanateyn Country which belongs to Ankara state on the basis of temettuat register in the mid 19th century. The aim and frame of the article is based on the TUSOKTAR Project which is conducted efficiently by the Turkish Historical Society between 1995 and 2000. As a matter of fact, the electronic data system and the special program which were developed for the data related to past times of Ankara were utilized in this article. Therefore, the study intends to shed light and contribute to the social and economic lives of the Ottoman society within the frame of a local area in terms of both the archive materials and being a part of such a major project.
