Abstract
Epidermal cysts of retrorectal origin are more common to be thought. They are a developmental anomaly of the ecto- dermis. It causes sensation of fullness, lump in the rectum and dysparonia. The retrorectal space is defined by dorsal face of rectum anteriorly and of frontal face of sacrum posteriorly. Levator ani muscle and coccygeal muscle the lowest level of the retrorectal space. The diagnosis of our reported case is established mainly by physical examina¬ tion and ultrasonography. ' The patient was treated surgically with local excision of the cyst through the posterior perineal approach.
