Özet
2020 yılında Nevşehir ili ve İlçelerinde sürdürülen yüzey araştırmasında, Avanos’a bağlı Çalış Beldesinin 10 km kuzeydoğusunda, Belkuyu mevkiinde yeni bir nekropol alanı tespit edilmiştir. Nekropolün hemen yanında onunla ilişki bir de höyük yer alır.. Tamamı kaçak kazılar neticesinde tahrip olmuş nekropolde yüz elli mezar tespit edilmiştir. Tamamı kaçak kazılar sonucu tahrip olduğu belirlen bu mezarların mimari ve arkeolojik malzemelerine ilişkin buluntular bölgenin ölü gömme adetleri ve mezar mimarisinin yanı sıra nekropol ve höyüğün kronolojisi hakkında da önemli bilgileri içermektedir. Bu çalışmanın amacı arkeolojik ve mimari veriler ışığında bu nekropol alanı ve höyüğün karakterizasyonunu ortaya koymaktır.
Abstract
During the survey carried out in the Nevşehir province and districts in 2020, a new necropolis area has been identified in Belkuyu which is located ten kilometers northeast of the Çalış Town in Avanos district. Right close to the necropolis, there is also a mound associated with it. One hundered graves have been identified in these necropolis. The archaeological and architectural materials of these graves, all of which have been destroyed as a result of illegal excavations, contain important informa- tions abouth the burial customs and tombs architecture of these region, as well as the chronology of the necropolis and the mound. This study aims to put forth the characterization of this necropolis area and the mound in the light of these archaeological and architectural materials.
