Abstract
Ankara and its surroundings, which are very sheltered due to its geopolitical location, have hosted many civilizations since ancient times. The Christianization process of Ankara started in 51 AD and many churches were built in the city in the process. Substantial information exists in the travel notes of travelers visiting the city and its surroundings. Travelogues mention the churches in Ankara and indicate that Greeks, Armenians and Turks lived together in the city, especially in the 16-17th and 18th centuries. As a result of the Great Ankara fire in 1916, many residences and religious buildings in and around Ulus were damaged. It took years to restore the area, which was almost destroyed after the fire. One of the buildings damaged in this fire was the French College of St. Klement. The building involving St. Teresa Church which is the subject of exploration of this study, was rebuilt in 1928 on the land of the St. Klement French College which was almost completely destroyed in the 1916 Ankara Fire. This study aims to introduce the history, architectural features and ornaments of the Saint Teresa Church, which is the only Catholic Church in Ankara, with the help of the drawings made for the first time.
