Abstract
Jewelry, which forms a significant group of handicraft products, sheds light on the feelings, cultural characteristics and artistic tastes of the society where it shows up as in other handicraft products. The bracelets which are in the jewelry batch and form the basis of our topic have been used and continue to be used by the Anatolian women from the past to the present. In this respect, bracelets are among the most vivid examples of the material culture in terms of continuity of handicraft. The limited number of scientific researches about bracelets have revealed the tendency to turn to this study. Moreover, the main purpose behind the selection of the bracelets in the research was the continuation of the tradition of using bracelets throughout the ages. Work samples were selected from four different museums by paying attention to the formal and ornamental programs. All the bracelets that belonged to the Ottoman Period and were kept in the storerooms of the museums were examined meticulously after the necessary permissions were obtained from the related museums; among these, 11 works, which were as different from each other as possible, were subjected to examination in consideration with their forms, materials, compositions and ornamenting techniques.
