Özet
MEB-Zekâ Oyunları Okul Öncesi Kurs Programı kapsamında uygulanan zekâ oyunlarının çocukların bilimsel süreç becerileri ve dikkat becerilerine etkisinin incelendiği bu araştırma ön test-son test kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel desende tasarlanmıştır. Araştırmanın çalışma grubu, 60-72 aylık Zekâ Oyunları Okul Öncesi Kurs Programına katılan 30 çocuk deney grubu, aynı kurumlarda eğitim programına katılmayan 29 çocuk ise kontrol grubu olmak üzere 59 çocuktan oluşmaktadır. Araştırmada Kişisel Bilgi Formu, 60-72 Aylık Çocuklar İçin Okul Öncesi Bilimsel Süreç Becerileri Ölçeği ve 5 Yaşındaki Çocuklar İçin Konsantrasyon Testi olmak üzere üç veri toplama aracı kullanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda Zekâ Oyunları Okul Öncesi Kurs Programına katılan deney grubundaki çocukların tahmin-çıkarım-bilimsel iletişim, ölçme ve gözlem alt boyutları ile bilimsel süreç becerileri toplam puan ortalamalarının ve dikkat beceri puan ortalamalarının kontrol grubundaki çocuklardan anlamlı düzeyde yüksek olduğu saptanmıştır.
Abstract
This research examines the effects of the brain teasers provided within the Ministry of Education (MEB) Preschool Course Program on children's science processing and attention skills. It employs a quasi -experimental design with the pretest- posttest control group. The research study group consists of 59 children from the same school. While 30 of them who participated in the 60-72-month-old Brain Teasers Preschool Course Program are categorized as the experimental group, the remaining 29 who did not participate in the program became the control group of the study. Three data collection tools were used in the study i.e., Personal Information Form, Preschool Science Process Skills Scale for 60 –72-Month-Old Children and Concentration Test for 5-Year-Old Children. The research’s findings indicate that the averages of the total science processing skills scores of the children in the experimental group, who participated in the Brain Teasers Preschool Course Program, are higher. In other words, their scores from sub-dimensions of predicting-inferring-communicating, measuring, and observing, as well as their attention skill averages are significantly higher than the average scores of the children in the control group.
