Özet

Amaç: Çocuklarda sık görülen demir eksikliği anemisinde, tiroid işlevleri hakkındaki çalışmalar sınırlı olup, bu çalışmada demir eksikliği anemisinin tiroid hormon metabolizması üzerine etkilerinin araştırılması planlanmıştır. Gereç ve Yöntem: Çalışma etik kurul onayı (no:77, 04.11.2008) alınarak, demir eksikliği anemisi tanısı konulan 1-14 yaş arası 90 hasta ile kontrol grubunu oluşturan 38 çocuk üzerinde ileriye dönük olarak gerçekleştirildi. Tüm hastalardan tam kan sayımı, serum demir, total demir bağlama kapasitesi, ferritin, TSH, TT4, TT3, fT4, fT3 düzeylerine bakıldı. Elde edilen veriler SPSS (Social Package for Social Sciences) 15,0 programı kullanılarak analiz edildi. Abstract

Aim: Studies concerning thyroid functions in iron deficiency anemia, which is frequently seen in childhood, are limited. So, the present study was planned to investigate the effects of iron deficiency anemia on thyroid hormone metabolism. Material and Method: The study was approved by the Ethics Committee (number:77, 04.11.2008) and prospectively conducted among 90 patients with iron deficiency anemia (study group) and 38 healthy children (control group) aged between 1-14 years. Complete blood count, iron, iron binding capacity, ferritin, TSH, TT4, TT3, fT4, fT3 were determined from all the children included in the study.
