Radyoterapi (RT) ya da kemoradyoterapi (KRT) eş-liğinde veya tek başına olmak üzere açık parsiyel veyatotal larinjektomiler larinks kanseri tedavisinin tektemel unsuru idi. Ancak, seçilmiş hastalarda transoralendoskopik karbondioksit lazer mikrocerrahisi(TLM) veya transoral robotik cerrahi (TORC) gibiminimal invaziv işlemlerin kullanımı giderek artmaktadır.Larinks çatısı bu cerrahilerde hasarlanmadığından,postoperatif yutma fonksiyonu daha hızlı iyileş-mekte, rutin trakeotomi genellikle gerekmemektedir.Dahası, açık cerrahilerle kıyaslanabilir onkolojik sonuçlarıvardır.

Abstract

Open partial or total laryngectomies with or withoutradiotherapy (RT) or chemoradiotherapy (CRT) arethe only mainstays in the treatment of laryngeal carcinomas.However, minimally invasive procedures suchas transoral endoscopic carbondioxide laser microsurgery(TLM) or transoral robotic surgeries (TRS) arenow being increasingly used in selected patients. Thelaryngeal framework is not disturbed in these procedures;therefore, the postoperative swallowing functionimproves more rapidly, and routine tracheotomy isnot usually required. Moreover, they have oncologicalresults comparable with open procedures.
