Özet

Amaç: Nazal septum cerrahisinin ve kullanılan tamponun özelliklerinin sistemik ve lokal olarak oksidatif stresüzerine olan etkisi değerlendirildi. Yöntemler: İzole septum deviasyonu sebebiyle lokalanestezi altında opere edilecek 15 hasta çalışmaya dahil edildi. Venöz kan örnekleri preoperatif, postoperatifnazal tampon konulduktan sonra, nazal tampon çıkarılırçıkarılmaz ve tampon çekildikten 2 saat sonra alındı. Eşzamanlı olarak cerrahiye başlarken insizyon aşamasındave nazal tampon çekilir çekilmez 2x2 mm ölçülerindemukoza örnekleri alındı. Oksidatif stresin göstergesiolan Malondialdehit (MDA), antioksidan sistemin göstergesi olarak glutatyon (GSH) ve süperoksid dismutaz(SOD) lokal olarak septum mokozasında değerlendirildi. Sistemik olarak ise MDA, nitrik oksid ve katalazdeğerlendirildi. Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the efects of nasal septal surgeryand type of nasal packing used on local and systemicoxidative stress.Methods: Fifteen patients who were scheduled forseptoplasty under local anaesthesia with isolated septal deviation were included in the study. Venous bloodsamples were collected preoperatively, postoperativelyupon anterior nasal packaging, immediately after nasalpackaging was removed and 2 hours following removalof nasal packaging. At the start of the incision and justafter removal of the nasal packaging 2x2-mm sized nasalmucosal samples were taken. Malonylaldehyde (MDA)was measured as a parameter of local oxidative stress, andglutathione (GSH) and superoxide dismutase (SOD) asparameters of the local antioxidant system. SystemicMDA, catalase and nitric oxide were measured. Results: GSH and SOD levels decreased postoperativly in the septal mucosa just after nasal package removal,whereas MDA increased signifcantly (p
