Özet
Amaç: Osteoporoz kemik mineral yoğunluğunun azalmasına bağlı kırıkların ortaya çıktığı bir hastalıktır. Hastalıktan korunmak için kemiksağlığını destekleyen beslenme ve yaşam şekillerinin bilinmesi önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın amacı kadın ve erkekler arasındaki osteoporoz bilgidüzeyi ve farkındalığını değerlendirmektir.Gereç ve Yöntem: Araştırma Denizli Pamukkale Üniversitesinde Kasım 2012-Mayıs 2014 tarihleri arasında gerçekleştirildi. Çalışmayakatılmayı kabul eden gönüllülerin sosyodemografk özelliklerinin kaydedilmesi yanısıra, osteoporoza ilişkin bilgi ve farkındalık düzeyini ölçmekiçin Osteoporoz Bilgi Testi (OBT) ve Osteoporoz Sağlık İnanç Ölçeği (SİÖ) kullanıldı.Bulgular: Çalışmaya 96sı kadın, 51i erkek toplamda 147 gönüllü katıldı. Çalışma yaş ortalaması 36,1±14,6 yıldı. Katılımcıların %6,1indeosteoporoz öyküsü, %13,6sında ailede osteoporoz öyküsü vardı. Abstract
Objective: Osteoporosis is a disease which causes fractures depending on decreasing bone mineral density. Nutrition and life style whichsupport the bone health must be known for prevention of the disease. This study was conducted to assess awareness about OP betweenmen and women.Materials and Methods: The study was performed between the dates November 2012-May 2014 in Denizli Pamukkale University. A formincluding sociodemographic features, Osteoporosis Knowledge Test (OKT) and Osteoporosis Health Belief Scale (OHBS) were used in thecollection of the data for evaluation the osteoporosis knowledge level and awarenes of the volunteers who accept to attend the study.Results: Hundred forty-seven volunteers of 96 women and 51 men attended to the study. Mean age was 36.1±14,6 years and 6.1% of theparticipants had a diagnosis osteoporosis and 13.6% of the participants had a family history of osteoporosis.
