Hastaların %91'i postoperatif 6. haftada 20/40 ve üzeri görme keskinliğine sahipti. Postoperatif 2. ayda, hastaların sadece %15.4 ünde ± l.OO D ve üzerinde rezidüel astigmatizma mevcuttu. Sadece dört gözde (%2.2) Nd:YAG kapsülotomi gerektiren klinik arka kapsül opasifikasyonu görüldü. Hiçbir hastada İntraoküler lens desantralizasyonu, dis-lokasyonu ve progresif IOL opasifikasyonu izlenmedi. Sonuç: Katlanabilir hidrofilik akrilik İntraoküler lens Bioacryl, yüksek su içeriği sayesinde kolayca implante edilmekte, iyi uveal biyouyumlulukları sayesinde hastalar tarafından iyi tolere edilmektedir. Uzun dönem komplikasyonları için farklı hasta popülasyonlarında, takip süresi daha uzun çalışmaların düzenlenmesi gerekmektedir.
Abstract
Purpose: To evaluate the short-term results of a foldable hydrophilic acrylic intraocular lens (IOL), Bioacryl (Biotech, France). rected visual acuity, keratometric and intraocular pressure measurements and biomicroscopic and fundus examinations were carried out at each visit. Results: The mean age of 170 patients (89 female, 81 male) were 73.4±12.4 years. The mean follow-up period was 21 ±6 months. Ninety-one percent of patients had a visual acuity of 20/40 or better at 6 weeks postoperatively. Only 15.4% of patients had ± 1.00 D or more residual astigmatism at postoperative 2 months. Clinically apparent posterior capsule opacification that required Nd: YAG laser capsulotomy was noted in only four patients (2.2%). No patients experienced IOL decentralization, dislocation or progressive IOL opacification. Conclusion: Bioacryl, the foldable acrylic hydrophilic IOL, with its high water content and easy implantation property is well tolerated due to high uveal biocompatibility. Further studies on different patient populations are required for its long-term complications.Material and Methods: 186 eyes of one hundred and seventy patients who were on a regular follow-up after clear corneal incision phacoemulsification surgery with hydrophilic acrylic intraocular lens (IOL) implantation (Bioacryl, Biotech, France) have been included in the study. Postoperative follow-up periods were 1st, 3rd, 6th weeks and 6 and 12th months. Best-corrected visual acuity, keratometric and intraocular pressure measurements and biomicroscopic and fundus examinations were carried out at each visit. Results: The mean of 170 patients (89 female, 81 male) were 73.4±12.4 years. The mean follow-up period was 21 ±6 months.
