Özet
Amaç: Bu çalışmada, menopozun ve kombine hormon replasman tedavisinin oküler kan akımı üzerine etkilerini araştırmak amacıyla renkli Doppler görüntüleme yöntemi ile oftalmik ve santral retinal arterlerin hemodinamik değişiklikleri incelendi. Yöntem: Çalışmaya, menopoz öncesi dönemde olan 22 kadın, hormon replasman tedavisi almayan 30 menopozlu kadın ve ortalama 4 yıldır (aralık, l ile 12 yıl) kombine hormon replasman tedavisi almakta (0.625 mg konjuge östrojen + 2.5 mg medroksiprogesteron asetat) olan 32 menopozlu kadın dahil edildi. Renkli Doppler görüntüleme yöntemi ile oftalmik ve santral retinal arterlerin maksimum sistolik hızları (MSH), diastol sonu hızları (DSH) ve rezistif indeksleri (Rİ) ölçüldü. Bulgular: Menopoz öncesi dönemdeki kadınların oftalmik arter MSH değerleri her iki menopozal gruptan anlamlı olarak yüksekti (sırasıyla, p=0.02 ve p=0.006), DSH ve Rİ değerleri üç grup arasında anlamlı farklılık göstermemekteydi (p>0.05). Hormon replasman tedavisi alan ve almayan menopozlu kadınlarla karşılaştırıldığında, menopoz öncesi dönemdeki kadınların santral retinal arter MSH (sırasıyla, p=0.002 ve p=0.006) ve DSH'larının (her iki p
Abstract
Purpose: In this study, we investigated the hemodynamic changes in ophthalmic and central retinal arteries with color Doppler imaging to assess the effect of menopause and combined hormone replacement therapy on ocular blood flow. . Methods: Twenty-two premenopausal women, 30 postmenopausal women, who had never received hormone replacement therapy and 32 postmenopausal women, who had been receivingcombined hormone replacement therapy (0.625 mg conjugated estrogen and 2.5 mg medroxy-progesterone) with a mean duration of 4 years (range, 1 to 12 years) participated this study. Color Doppler imaging was used to determine peak systolic velocity (PSV), end-diastolic velocity (EDV) and resistive index (RI) in the ophthalmic and central retinal arteries. Results: Premenopausal women had significantly higher PSV in the ophthalmic artery when compared with either group of postmenopausal women (p=0.02 and p=0.006, respectively). EDV and the RI in this vessel were each similar in the three groups of women (p>0.05). In the central retinal artery, premenopausal women showed higher PSV (p=0.002 and p=0.006, respectively) and EDV (both p
