Özet

Amaç: Kullandıkları timolol maleate %0.5 solüsyon ile göz içi basınçları regüle olan glokomlu hastalarda timolol maleate %0.1 jel kullanılmasının göz içi basınç kontrolündeki etkinliğinin yanı sıra lokal ve sistemik yan etkilerinin araştırılması. Yöntem: Timolol maleate %0.5 solüsyon kullanan ve göz içi basınçları kontrol altında olan, iki haftalık ilaçsız bırakma süresi sonunda timolol maleate %0.1 jel başlanan 34 hasta 1. hafta, 1, ve 3. ayda göz içi basınçları, kan basınçları, nabız; lokal ve sistemik şikayet ve bulgular yönünden değerlendirildiler. Sonuçlar: Timolol maleate %0.5 solüsyon kullanan hastaların göz içi basınçları ortalama 16,9±2,3 mmHg'dı. İki haftalık ilaçsız bırakma periyodu sonunda 22,6±2,8 mmHg'ya yükselmiş (p

Abstract

Purpose: To investigate the efficacy of timolol maleate 0.1 % gel on controlling the intraocular pressure (IOP) in glaucomatous patients with already regular IOP who were previously using timolol maleate 0.5% solution, in addition to look for the local and systemic side effects. Methods: After two-weeks of washout period, 34 cases with regular IOPs by timolol maleate 0.5% solution; timolol maleate 0.1% gel was began and IOPs, blood pressures, pulse and local, systemic sign and symptoms were evaluated at 1st week, Is1 and 3rd months. Results: Mean IOP of the patients using timolol maleate 0.5% solution was 16,9±2.3 mmHg. At the end of two-weeks of washout period IOP increased to 22,6±2,8 mmHg. IOPs were decreased to 17,1±2,0, 17,0±2,1, and 17,3±2,12 mmHg at Is' week, 1st and 3rd months, respectively with timolol maleate 0.1% gel. There was not a statistically significant difference between the IOP levels with timolol maleate 0.5% solution (p>0.05). After the two-week of washout period; systolic, diastolic pressure and pulse rate increased significantly (p
