Özet
Amaç: Anadoluda XV. Yüzyıl başlarında yaşamış bir hekimin göz hastalıkları konusunda yazdığı bir el yazması eserde göz kaslarına ait olan kısmı değerlendirmek. Gereç ve Yöntem: II. Murad dönemi hekimlerinden Muhammed bin Mahmud-ı Şirvânî. 1437-1438 yıllarında göz hastalıkları ve tedavilerini anlatan ´Mürşid´ adlı el yazması eserini yazmıştır. Bu eserin Manisa nüshasının I. Kitabının I. Bâbında ´Anı bildürür kim. göz neye deprenür ve anı depreden nedür´ (Göz niçin hareket eder ve onu hareket ettiren nedir?) başlığı altında göz hareketleri hakkındaki 12. fasıl incelendi. Bulgular: Şirvânî´ye göre her gözde yedi kas bulunmaktadır. Bunlardan dördü gözün sırayla iç. dış. üst ve aşağısında yerleşmişlerdir. Gerildiklerinde gözü o yöne baktırırlar. Beşinci ve altıncı kaslar eğri durmakta olup gözün ´çepeçevre dönmesini´ sağlarlar. Yedinci kas gözün arkasında olup beyinden inmiş boş sinirlerin içinde yerleşmiştir. gözün sabit durmasını sağlar. Yorum: Şirvânî´nin 600 yıl kadar önceki bilgileriyle gözün dört rektus ve iki oblik kası ve bunların fonksiyonlarına ait değerlendirmelerinin bugünkü bilgilerimizle uyum içinde olduğu görülmektedir. Adı geçen bölümü incelenen bu eser. o zamanın bilimsel anlayışını ve düzeyini göstermesinin yanı sıra. Türk tıp. oftalmoloji ve bilim tarihiyle ilgili değerli bir belge niteliğindedir.
Abstract
Purpose : To evaluate the part of a hand-written book related to the eye muscles written by a physician who lived in Anatolia at the beginning of 15th century.Methods : Muhammed bin Mahmud-i Şirvani. physicians of the term of Murad the second had written a book named ´Mürşid´ about the eye diseases and treatments. The 12th part of the 1st section of the 1st volume of this hand-written book has been studied which is about the eye movements under the heading of ´Why does the eye move and what is the mover?´Results : As for Şirvani. there are seven muscles around the eye. Four of them are settled on the medial. lateral. superior and inferior of the eye. respectively. When they are stretched they get the eye to look at that direction. The fifth and sixth muscles are settled at curved position and they get the eye to turn circumferencely. The seventh muscle is behind the eye and is settled in the descending nerves from the brain and get the eye to stay immobile.Conclusion : It is understood that the evaluations about the four rectus and two oblique muscles of the eye and their functions which had been done by Şirvani before 600 years are in accordance with our knowledge of today. This book which the mentioned part was studied is an important document showing the scientific intelligence and the scientific level of that time and besides it is a valuable document related to the history of Turkish medicine. ophthalmology and science.
