Özet

Amaç: Primer açık açılı glokom hastalarında (PAAG) travoprost %0,004 ve bimatoprost %0,03 kullanımının oküler yüzey değişikliklerine etkisini incelenmek. Gereç ve Yöntem: PAAG tanısı almış olan 78 hasta çalışmaya dahil edildi. 44 hastaya travoprost ve 34 hastaya bimatoprost başlandı. İlaç öncesi ye ilaç sonrası 1.hafta, l.ay, 3.ay ve 6. ayda rutin göz muayeneleri uygulandı. Göz içi basıncı (GİB) Goldmann aplanasyon tonometresi ile ölçüldü. Gözyaşı kırılma zamanı ve Schirmer testleri uygulandı. İlaç öncesi ve ilaç sonrası 6.ayda fırça yöntemiyle konjonktiva sitolojisi uygulandı. Örnekler Nelson sınıflamasına göre evrelendirildi ve goblet hücre yoğunluğu değerlendirildi. Bulgular: Ortalama GİB, travoprost grubunda ilaç öncesi 21.4+1.5 mmHg, ilaç sonrası 6.ayda 15.4±1.6 mmHg, bimatoprost grubunda ise ilaç öncesi 22.0+1.5 mmHg, ilaç sonrası 15.5±1.4 mmHg olarak saptandı (p

Abstract

The Effect of Travoprost 0,004% and Bimatoprost 0,03% on Ocular Surface Purpose: To determine the effect of the usage of travoprost %0,004 and bimatoprost %0,03 on ocular surface in patient with primer open angle glaucoma (POAG). Methods: Seventy eight patients with POAG were enrolled into the study. Fourty four patients were started travoprost 0,004%, thirty four patients were started brimonidine 0,03%. Routin ophthalmic examination was performed before and after treatment at first week, first month, thirth month and sixth month. Intraocular pressure (IOP) was measured with Goldmann applanation tonometry. Schirmer and break up time (BUT) tests were performed in all examinations. Conjonctival cytology was taken from right eyes with brush cytology technic before treatment and was repeated approximately after treatment sixth month. Specimens were graded according to Nelson's classification of squamous metaplasia state of epithelial cells. Goblet cell density was also evaluated before and after treatment at six month.
