Abstract
Purpose: To evaluate the long term results of trabeculectomy performed in pediatric glaucoma. Material and Methods: Twenty six eyes of 21 pediatric glaucoma patients (3 congenital, 13 infantile, 5 juvenile glaucomas) who underwent trabeculectomy were included in this study. Follow up time was at least 6 months. The IOP measurement and complications were recorded postoperatively 6, 12, 24, and 36 months after surgery. The success rate was defined as the IOP greater than 6 mmHg and less than 21 mmHg with or without medication. Results: We evaluated 21 patients (12 male, 9 female). Mean age was 8.62±4.28 years. Mean follow up time was 20.65±13 months. The mean preoperative IOP level was 26.65±6.51 mmHg. The mean postoperative IOP level was 15.46±6.87 mmHg at 6 month, 18.69±9.61 mmHg at 12 month, 19.62±10.58 mmHg at 24 month and 19.62±10.58 mmHg at last visit respectively. Reductions in IOP levels were statistically significant in all control visits. (p
