Özet

Herbaspirillum huttiense; oksidaz pozitif betaproteobacteria sınıfında yer alan non-fermenter Gram negatif bir basildir. Genel olarak yaşam alanı rizosfer olan H. huttiense, mısır ve buğday gibi gıdaların yanı sıra yer altı sularından da izole edilmiştir. İnsanlarda ender olarak görülen H. huttiense bakteriyemisi, hem immünsupresif hem de immünkompetan bireylerde bildirilmiştir. Bu makalede, COVID-19 tanılı bir hastada ilk kez H. huttiense bakteriyemi olgusu sunulmuştur.

Abstract

Herbaspirillum huttiense is an oxidase positive, non-fermenting gram negative bacillus, belonging to the class Betaproteobacteria. H. huttiense which has rhizosphere as general habitat is isolated from food like corn and wheat, and from underground water resources. H. huttiense bacteremia is rare in humans, but has already been reported in both immunosupressive and immunocompetent individuals. Here, a case of H. huttiense bacteremia is presented in a patient with COVID-19 for the first time.
