Özet
Ders kitapları, bir toplumun kendi çocuklarını gelecekte birer olgun birey olarak yaşamaya hazırlamak için, aktarmak istediği ve resmen kabul görmüş olan bilgileri içerirler. Tarih ve coğrafya ders kitapları aracılığıyla toplumlar köklerini, belirli bir yerde niçin ve nasıl yaşadığını, bu yerin nasıl tanımlanıp nitelendirilebileceğini, başka bir deyişle kim olduklarını açıklamaya çalışırlar. Cumhuriyet Dönemi Coğrafya ders kitaplarında yer alan Türk Dünyası Coğrafyasına ilişkin bilgiler bize bu dönemdeki Türk dünyasına ilişkin bilgi ve bakış açısını da yansıtabilecektir. Araştırmada, Cumhuriyet döneminde uygulanan Coğrafya Dersi Müfredat Programlarını temsil eden Ülkeler Coğrafyası ders kitapları içeriğinde Türkiye dışındaki Türk Dünyası Coğrafyasına nasıl yer verildiğinin ortaya konması amaçlanmıştır. Bu maksatla 1924'ten günümüze farklı özellikleri ile öne çıkmış olan yedi müfredat programını temsil eden on bir Ülkeler Coğrafyası ders kitabı içerik analizi yöntemi ile incelenmiştir. Araştırma sonuçlarına göre, incelen Ülkeler Coğrafyası ders kitaplarında, "Türk Dünyası Coğrafyası" adının hiç kullanılmadığı ve Türk Dünyasının tamamına ilişkin bilgilerin yer almadığı görülmüştür.
Abstract
Textbooks cover the officially accepted knowledge which is aimed to be taught and prepare individually the children of the society as being mature individuals for future. The societies can explain their roots, why and how they lived in a specific region and how this place can be described through textbooks of history and geography. In other words, they try to explain who they are. The content of geography of Turkish World (Turkc World) in geography textbooks in Republican period would reflect knowledge and perspectives about Turkish world of this period. In this research, it has been aimed to display how the content of the textbooks "Geography of Countries" representing the Geography Course Curriculum in effect during the Republican Period reflected the geography of Turkish world outside the borders of Turkish Republic. For this purpose, eleven "Geography of Countries" textbooks outstanding for their distinctive features from 1924 to the present representing the seven curriculum programs have been analyzed by using content analysis method. The research results show1 that the term "Geography of Turkish World" has never been used and the knowledge about the entire Turkish world has not been included in the "Geography of countries "textbooks.
