Abstract
entitled “The relationship between visible thrombusaspiration material with no-reflow and in-hospitalmortality ratio in patients with anterior ST-elevationmyocardial infarction treated with primary percutaneouscoronary intervention,” published in theArchives of the Turkish Society of Cardiology.[1] Aswe noted in the discussion section, “the lower in-hospitalmortality of patients with VTA [visible thrombusaspiration] in our study may also be associated witha shorter door-to-balloon time, lower Killip class, and better TIMI [Thrombolysis in Myocardial Infarction]flow after TA [thrombus aspiration].” Delayeddoor-balloon time can be a reason for a higher Killipclassification in patients without VTA, and thesedecompensated patients, naturally, cannot undergorevascularization during ST elevation myocardial infarction.
